In a recent blog interview at http://goaimgo.wordpress.com/ by Paul Pajo—faculty adviser of the Association of Information Management—Philip Laureano details the myriad aspects of Refactoring, including its beginnings and current status in the country’s software development industry.
According to Laureano, despite providing evident benefits for company-based software, Refactoring has not yet experienced due recognition. Seminars on Refactoring—the process of optimizing and reorganizing code—intend to change all that. A series of Refactoring courses were organized by CodeLean Inc. last November 14, 21, 28, and December 8 at De La Salle University – College of Saint Benilde.
Says Laureano, “. . . it made a huge difference when I realized that I spent less and less time on maintenance because of refactoring.”
